While millions shopped for the holidays, thousands of meals were packaged by happy volunteers for hungry children.
Every year around the holidays, Feed My Starving Children sets up shop at Phoenix Convention Center for a wild weekend of giving. Hope Filled Holiday is an annual volunteering event put on by the nonprofit that brings thousands of volunteers together for one weekend to package two million nutritious meals for malnourished children in 70 countries around the world. Volunteers wearing “party hats” (also known as hair nets) scooped soy, rice, nutrients, and veggies into bags to be sent to feed these children. The two million meals packaged in three days is enough to feed 5,480 children for an entire year. If you’d like to sign up and volunteer or donate to FMSC, you can find all the information on their site.
