Toyota creates accessible electric shuttle for 2020 Olympic Games

PHOENIX- When the Olympics take place next year in Tokyo, staff, athletes and visitors will have a unique form of transportation.

Toyota will alleviate the pressure of transportation as the company has revealed the get-around electric vehicle of choice called the ‘Accessible People Mover’ (APM).

This bad boy has the extraneous task of transporting people from one venue to another and doing it efficiently.

Toyota has created the vehicle with a strong emphasis on transporting the elderly, people with impairments, pregnant women and families. The shuttle will also be able to transport players and staff to areas that are official and non-event official sites like the Olympic Village.

This electric futuristic APM has a configurable interior suitable to any situation.It has three rows of seating with wheelchair acomidation by folding the seats and can be configured for a stretcher.

The APM looks to be a versatile vehicle with a range a of 100 km and a max speed of 19 mph. Toyota will deploy 200 of these electric vehicles when the Olympics start next year July 24.
