What happens when you take a hit CW show and mix in a 1970’s Scooby-Doo episode? You’re going to get a little thing we like to call “ScoobyNatural.”
We know what you’re thinking, “How would that work?”
Trust us when we say it makes sense.
Picture this: A case-of-the-week leads to Dean winning in a wrestling match with a living stuffed dinosaur. A pawnshop owner gives the pair a free TV to show his appreciation for their help. Dean accepts the gift despite Sam’s uncertainty about the seemingly random gesture. This TV isn’t just any regular TV as the brothers come to learn once they’re sucked into it and find themselves as cartoon characters in an episode of Scooby-Doo.
Dean, acting as most of us would if in the situation, is understandably excited to be apart of the animated world. But this time, the monster isn’t what we’re used to — it’s an actual monster.
Co-showrunner Andrew Dabb claims that the episode gets “pretty dark” compared to the light-hearted feel of the Scooby-Doo we all know. “There are things you wouldn’t see in a regular Scooby-Doo cartoon,” Dabb said.
“They walk into an old episode of Scooby-Doo, but it may end up being a new episode of Supernatural,” Dabb Explains.
“ScoobyNatural” is set to air Thursday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Arizona time on The CW.
