Peoria Animal Control rescues a baby Great Horned Owl after it was found in a Peoria resident’s backyard.
Animal Control officers brought the animal to Fallen Feathers Bird Rescue, Rehabilitation and Education in Peoria. The group now has five owls in rehabilitation, not to mention, hundreds of other birds. Fallen Feathers plans to release the baby owl back into the wild by October once the animal has fully matured.
WAIT… THERE’S MORE
Fallen Feathers says federal law prevents them from naming the owls. Naming the owls could cause people to treat the animals as pets instead of wildlife.
