New York City Emerges as Top Gaming Region

TOP FIGHTING GAME REGION IN THE COUNTRY IS NAMED AS THE JOURNEY TO RISE. RALLY. CONQUER ENDS IN WASHINGTON D.C.

 

Red Bull Conquest Crowned Fighting Game Champions in Street Fighter® V: Arcade Edition, TEKKEN 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd REV2 with New York Winning the Overall Title

Washington, D.C. – November 17, 2018 – Competitors in the Fighting Game Community (FGC) from across the country descended on the nation’s capital to battle for ultimate bragging rights at Red Bull Conquest, the premier fighting game circuit that empowers competitors to represent their local fighting game scene and determine which region has the best players in Street Fighter® V: Arcade Edition, TEKKEN 7, and Guilty Gear Xrd REV2.

 

Over a nine-month span, more than 3,000 players embarked on the journey to RISE. RALLY. CONQUER. After a grueling final day of fierce competition, New York City (52) emerged victorious, claiming the highly coveted title of top fighting game region in the United States. Earning 52 points by the end of the evening, NYC beat out top regions including San Francisco (51), Los Angeles (37), Atlanta (34), Washington D.C. (28) and more.

 

Comprised of the teammates Eli “LostSoul” Rabadad, Anthony “Mr.Whooppee” Castro, and Victor “Punk” Woodley (also winner of the singles Street Fighter® V: Arcade Edition competition), the new reigning champs took home the first place prize of $4,500 (split between the three contenders) and earned a spot for EVO Japan 2019 taking place February 15 – 17 in Fukuoka.

 

“I’m very excited, because I see all the emotion…the win is for home, not for me. I’m very happy for my teammates,” said Victor “Punk” Woodley, whose singles Street Fighter® V: Arcade Edition victory simultaneously claimed the title for New York City.

 

(Johns Creek, GA) reigned supreme in the Guilty Gear Xrd REV2 division, while Jimmy “dot_Nova” RenIn the remaining singles competitions, Hang jimmyjtran” Tran (San Jose, CA) battled the competition to the final possible round and ultimately outlasted his foe.
