Team-building exercises can be drawn out and boring, but a new Valley business is inviting you to drop the trust falls, and pick up an axe.
Lumberjaxes Axe Throwing is a competitive axe throwing facility, that’s expanding its franchise from Pittsburgh, Pa. to Tempe, Ariz. Think of it like a shooting range for axes.
“[It’s] more or less as playing darts, but we stepped it up a notch,” said Francesco DiNardo, Managing Partner at Lumberjaxes Axe Throwing.
We know what you’re thinking, and yes, drinking is allowed. In fact, it’s B.Y.O.B., but don’t think you’re going to get plastered.
“It’s a pretty strict policy. One beer an hour, and if you’re intoxicated you can’t play,” said DiNardo. “Safety is definitely our number one concern.”
There are trained “axe-pert” coaches at every lane giving tips and keeping people on target.
“You both throw at the same time and then both go get your axes at the same time. Never never never can anybody be down range while another person is getting ready to throw,” said DiNardo.
Lumberjaxes is set to open in mid to late February, so get your throwing arms ready.
