PHOENIX -Just when you thought trends couldn’t get any weirder, they did.

A new trend of texting the person who shares the first six digits as your phone number is on the rise, and it’s causing an uproar of different responses.

Here’s how it works: change the last digit up or down one number on your own seven digit number and send a friendly text to your “number neighbor”. The neighbor might either reply, ignore your text or respond in a way you won’t expect.

All in all, it may be a fun and interesting way to meet the person who shares a similar phone number than you, but it’s not recommended.
