Students giving back to help the next class receive free tuition.
Grand Canyon University is awarding hundreds of high school students free college tuition with the help of current GCU students. The Students Inspiring Students Scholarship awards a fully paid four-year tuition to 100 students each year who attend a neighboring high school. It’s funded in part by GCU, and various other donors and businesses. To receive the scholarship, high school seniors must spend 100 hours per year in the Learning Lounge, have a GPA of 3.5 or better, and be nominated by a student lead, a GCU student who helps in the school’s Learning Lounge. Then they’re asked to pay it forward to the next class of students, by offering 100 hours per year of academic support, inspiring students to work hard in academics. The total value is $66,000 dollars. Students interested in applying for the scholarship should contact Joe Veres at email@example.com.
