Governor Doug Ducey has declared an Arizona highway to be in a state of emergency. State Route 88 has been severely damaged due to recent flooding. The damage runs for 13 miles along the highway between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Lake. Ducey is asking the Federal Highway Administration for $800,000 in order to fix the structural erosion. The Arizona Department of Transportation has made temporary repairs along the highway in an effort to keep it open.
