PHOENIX – After a string of complaints about the keyboards found on MacBook Pro and Air computers, Apple hopes they have found a solution.
The keyboard style on these computers is called “butterfly keyboards,” which are meant to have a slimmer design. However, many users complained of double or missed key presses.
The company said Tuesday they are changing the material used for the keyboards. This should fix the problem without compromising the design. All of those who have a MacBook with the “butterfly keyboard” are eligible for the keyboard service program.
Apple has also made changes to its repair process. Now, anyone who’s seeking keyboard repair on a product purchased within the last four years can get help free of charge. They also hope to have quicker repair turnarounds.
