App teaches how to speak ‘Game of Thrones’ language High Valyrian


PHOENIX- What if you could talk in the ‘Game of Thrones,’ language called High Valyrian? Well, now you can!

Duolingo is a free language learning app that offers lessons in High Valyrian language. Within the last two weeks leading up to the final season of ‘Game of Thrones,’ nearly 1.2 million people have started this course and learning the ‘Game of Thrones’ language. Dulingo has seen a near 65% increase in people taking this course. 

High Valyrian isn’t the only fictional language that the app offers, Star Trek fans can learn the Klingon language too, which is centered around spacecraft, warfare, and weaponry. 

In order for the app to offer these unique languages, the company relies on hundreds of volunteers and employees to develop all the course material. There are over 30 different languages and there are thousands of people who can speak and are able to help teach these unique languages.
