Space Jam 2 starring Lebron James has an official release date.
If you remember the first Space Jam movie, you remember all of the basketball players who made cameos in the film like Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing and many others.
They haven’t released a list of the full cast of Space Jam 2, but here are some basketball players we think should get a casting call:
Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat)
It is well known that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are like brothers. They have great chemistry with each other, which would make for a great on-camera performance. He also has experience in films. He was featured in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Just Wright, and Backcourt. He also executive produced a documentary Shot in the Dark.
Kyrie Irving (Boston Celtics)
You might also know him as Uncle Drew. Aside from being the first-round pick in 2011 and a major threat on the Celtics, he also has some experience in the acting business. His film Uncle Drew was released just last year, and in it, he is disguised as an older man who loves the game of basketball.
Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors)
He also has a little experience in acting. Durant starred in Thunderstruck back in 2012 when he was on the Oklahoma City Thunder. In this movie, he played a basketball player who’s skills get swapped with a teenager’s.
Eric Gordon (Houston Rockets)
It was once rumored that he played Michael Jordan’s son in the original Space Jam, but sadly, he did not. Maybe we should give him his chance to be in the spotlight like he was thought to be?
Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers)
He is well known for his unique personality, and he would likely shine in a movie platform. His bold character has been showcased throughout social media, but his more notable interaction was when he publicly asked Rihanna if she was single.
