PHOENIX — TIME magazine just released their fifth annual ‘Most Influential People on the Internet’ and the list will surprise you. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Ariana Grande and President Trump walk into a bar… or they just run in the same circle (on the internet). These are just a few of the people that have been chosen as ‘most influential’ due to their social status and global impact on social media.
The royal family made their internet debut on Instagram back in April and amassed one million followers in the first six hours! Their effort is to draw attention to issues that matter to them and highlight organizations and advocates that are making a difference – they’ve paved their own way as the modern royal family.
The 26-year-old pop star currently holds the top spot for most Instagram followers following her success from hit singles, “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings.” Grande took home her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album on Sweetener in 2018 and has officially been reigned the ‘Queen of Pop’ since.
President Donald Trump single-handedly posted 84 different times on his Twitter account, racking up his digital presence in just a day. Trump has never been one to shy away from social media, and TIME isn’t the only outlet to notice. Whether he’s announcing a new policy or commenting about his political views, one things for sure – he has the audience.
