The CW drama series Riverdale stopped production on Monday to allow cast members to mourn the death of their co-star, Luke Perry, who died Monday after suffering a massive stroke last week.
Perry played Fred Andrews, Archie’s father in Riverdale. They had been filming for the show, shortly before his stroke. According to the Riverdale Writers Room Twitter account, they will be dedicating all of Season 3 to Perry.
Luke Perry… you were a joyful and vibrant soul. You will be missed but most certainly your legacy will be remembered forever. Rest in love and peace, friend. #Riverdale— Riverdale Writers Room (@RiverdaleWriter) March 4, 2019
Production will remain shut down on Tuesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Perry was also known for his role as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills, 90210.
Many of his Riverdale and 90210 co-stars have shared messages of love for the actor.
Molly Ringwald – Mary Andrews (Riverdale)
Lili Reinhart – Betty Cooper (Riverdale)
I’m finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us.
I’m thinking of his family. His children.
I pray for them to heal and find peace in this devastating loss.— Lili Reinhart (@lilireinhart) March 4, 2019
Ian Ziering – Steve Sanders (90210)
Dearest Luke, I will forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here for those you leave behind. God please give him a seat close to to you, he deserves it.
Emma Caulfield – Susan Keats (90210)
