Remember Pokémon Go? Yeah me either. That got old pretty quick, didn’t it? Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for this announcement.
A new augmented reality (AR) game that lets you become a Ghostbuster is coming out soon. It will have similar capture-and-battle concepts as Pokemon Go, but…ermm.. it’s Ghostbusters so it’s gonna be awesome.
Sony released a trailer for the new game, “Ghostbusters World” Friday. The trailer portrays the powers of the proton packs and ghost traps getting charged into a smartphone.
Players will battle and capture hundreds of ghosts from all different dimensions. The ghosts will come from all different Ghostbusters media, including movies, TV shows, video games and comics. It is described as “an all-new state-of-the-art augmented reality game.”
The game is a collaboration between Sony Pictures, Ghost corps and publisher FourThirtyThree Inc. You can expect the game to be available as an app on your phone sometime this year, although the date hasn’t been released yet.
The nerd in me is super stoked for this game and I plan on catching them all.
