Known for shutting down the red carpet, Lady Gaga’s latest Oscar debut was nothing short of expectations.
Gaga wore an all black gown with gloves designed by Alexander McQueen and paired the outfit with the ultimate dazzing accessory.
Making her way down the red carpet, cameras seemed to zero in on the beautiful necklace crested upon Gaga’s neck.
All eyes were on Gaga as she displayed some of the world’s most valuable diamonds.
The prized Tiffany & Co. necklace is 128.54-carat cut diamond, estimated to be worth over $30 million.
In the spotlight. The world-renowned Tiffany Diamond weighs 128.54 carats and has only been worn twice before—including by Audrey Hepburn. Worn by @ladygaga to tonight’s #Oscars, it is suspended from a platinum necklace of alternating cushion-cut and round brilliant diamonds. Appearing as if it is lit by an inner flame, the legendary cushion-cut yellow diamond has a unique 82 facets—24 more facets than the traditional 58-facet brilliant cut. The Tiffany Diamond is, quite literally, priceless. #LadyGaga #Oscars #ATiffanyDiamondADay #TheTiffanyDiamond
The rare necklace has only been worn a total of three times. The first was back in 1957 by Mrs. Sheldon White House at the Tiffany Ball in Newport, Rhode Island.
The necklace was last worn by Hollywood legend, Audrey Hepburn. She was seen wearing the necklace in 1962 on the cover of her Breakfast at Tiffany’s poster display.
Gaga marks the first to ever wear the necklace on the red carpet.
Some Twitter users compared the necklace to one worn by Kate Hudson in the movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Jewelry seems to be the star’s latest obession for this year’s award season. Just recently at the Golden Globes, Gaga made headlines for wearing another dazzling Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace.
A closer look. Crafted especially for @ladygaga in the Tiffany Workshop above the Fifth Avenue flagship store, this striking Tiffany Aurora necklace is an homage to the stars—both literally and figuratively. It is aptly named after the aurora borealis—also known as the dramatic and hypnotically entrancing northern lights. Comprised of over 300 pear-shaped and round brilliant diamonds, the true focal point of this design is a pear-shaped diamond drop of over 20 carats. Together, the necklace weighs in at over 80 total carats of scintillating diamonds. A star is born, indeed. #LadyGaga #GoldenGlobes #ATiffanyDiamondADay
I think it’s safe to say diamonds are Lady Gaga’s best friend.
