G-Eazy has been in meetings with Warner Bros. as well as Luhrmann to show how committed he is to landing the role, according to TMZ.

One thing is for sure, the rapper doesn’t have to change his look up too much, if he lands the coveted role. G-Eazy has been wearing leather jackets and rocking a pompadour since he came onto the rap scene around five years ago.

Tom Hanks is already signed on to the project as the role of Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The movie is said to focus on the relationship between the two.

Luhrmann who is known for his iconic movies like, Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge! is expected to make a decision within the coming weeks for the lead as the King of Rock and Roll. Whoever it is, they’ll have some big, blue suede shoes to fill.

Do you think G-Eazy can take on the King?
