PHOENIX – The Walt Disney Company is the first studio to have five movies gross $1 billion in a single year after Disney and Pixar’s animation film Toy Story 4 hit $1 billion since premiering in June the company announced.

The company’s other movies to have surpassed $1 billion this year are Captain Marvel, Aladdin, Avengers: Endgame, and The Lion King with Endgame taking the lead and grossing $2.795 billion dollars since April. It is also the highest-grossing film of all time, bumping Avatar to second.

Toy Story 4 is the fourth Pixar movie to reach the $1 billion milestone alongside Incredibles 2, Finding Dory and Toy Story 3.

Disney may top their own record in 2019 with four months left in the year and movies such as Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker still to hit theaters later this year.
