PHOENIX, Ariz. (KASW) — Adam Sandler began his career as a cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live back in 1991, but now, he is set to host the show for the first time on May 4.

He will make his hosting debut with musical guest, Shawn Mendes.

“We are happy to welcome Adam back to SNL in what is sure to be a special night,” said executive producer Lorne Michaels.

Adam Sandler first joined the show as a writer in 1990 and then one year later he joined the cast until 1995.

His newest comedy special 100% Fresh is streaming on Netflix. He is also starring in Murder Mystery, alongside Jennifer Aniston and Gemma Arterton, which will be released on Netflix later this year.
