The restaurant opened in early 2019. Now, they’re wrapping over 100 baos on a good day.
What’s a bao? There’s two meanings. Xiao Long Bao or soup dumplings are filled with broth. While, Sheng Jian Bao or steam buns are similar but steamed and pan fried with sesame seeds. Both are made by hand and filled with a mix of pork, onion and other flavors.
Some of Happy Bao’s other popular items are their less spicy take on Dan Dan noodles and their cold noodle dish called Liang Pi.
