PHOENIX July 20th marked the 50th anniversary of first moon landing, NASA’s Apollo 11. In honor of the anniversary, Dairy Queen is serving a dessert that is out of this world.

Their new Zero Gravity Blizzard contains Oreo cookie pieces, sparkly cosmic swirls and sweet cotton candy topping blended with creamy vanilla soft serve and topped with colorful galaxy sprinkles.

According to a press release, the blizzard is served upside down or the next one’s free! Sounds like my kind of challenge.

“Consumers have had an unwavering fascination with outer space since America’s landmark achievement nearly half a century ago. Fans can feed their imaginations and taste buds alike with the Zero Gravity Blizzard Treat — sending their red spoon spaceships into a deliciously iridescent soft serve galaxy,” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation said in a press release.

The new treat will be available at participating DQ locations for a limited time, while supplies last.

Not only did DQ serve up some new, yummy soft serve but they also released a complimentary DQ Zero Gravity playlist on Spotify.

The galactic playlist includes songs about stars, the moon, etc. Some featured songs include, “Rocket Man,” by Elton John, “All of the Stars,” by Ed Sheeran and so on. Listen to it here:
