SPOILER ALERT: Subbing soda with water could help fight obesity.
The journal 'Nutrients' studied nearly 16,000 people for 8.5 years and found drinking a glass of water every day instead of a beer reduces the chance of obesity by 20 percent. Changing out one sugary drink for water reduced the risk of obesity by 15 percent. The study couldn't prove a direct cause-and-effect but researchers took into account other factors like age and family history.
