Nearly 3,000 pounds of marijuana was seized at Arizona’s Port of Lukeville.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested four U.S. citizens, three of which are Arizona residents, during two smuggling attempts over the weekend. The first occurred Saturday when a Glendale man and Phoenix woman were caught smuggling $1.3 million dollars-worth of drugs during a secondary search of his motorhome. The drugs weighed 2,800 pounds. The next day officers found 150 pounds of marijuana worth $77,000 in a Green Valley man’s truck bed. All four suspects are in the hands of U.S. immigrations and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
