Volunteers restored a former pot operation to a wilderness area after seven years.
A former marijuana grow site in the Red Rock-Secret Mountains has been cleaned up and restored seven years after it was discovered. The restoration was a joint effort between the Arizona Wilderness Coalition and the Back Country Horsemen of Central Arizona. Fifteen volunteers brought both manpower and horsepower to clean up over 1,500 pounds of concrete and almost 300 pounds of wire from the area. Since motorized vehicles aren’t allowed in the area, all the trash was hauled out by pack animals!
