Keeping Up with Kalani

Dancer turned Enterprenur

Phoenix -

Dancing sensation, Kalani Hilliker stopped by the CW6 studios to discuss her latest projects including a clothing line.

You may know Kalani Hilliker as a featured star on Lifetime's Dance Moms. At just 16-years-old, the Scottsdale native is not only a big name in the world of dance, but she's also an entrepreneur. Before her tenth birthday, she knew she wanted to take her dancing to the next level and wanted to start making television appearances. This is when she and her Mother, Kira Girard, who also appears on Dance Moms, found Kalani an agent. Today, Kalani has taken on numerous projects including custom-designed phone cases with Wildflower cases, a sock line called KH by Kalani, a dancewear line known as the Kalani Collection, and now, a clothing line in partnership with Alyse Paris. Within the next few days, Kalani's line with Alyse Paris will make it's Prom 2018 debut at New York Fashion Week. Hilliker says that she has always been interested in fashion. As a little girl, she says she would take the scraps from her solo costumes and make pieces for her American Girl dolls. Working on her own line has been a dream come true, and she has been hands-on when the process. "It was just amazing. I got to pick the colors, the different fabrics..." explained Hilliker.  Growing up in the spotlight is not easy, but Kalani takes each opportunity as a chance to inspire others. "I'm trying to inspire other people to follow their dreams and do what they love because honestly, I never thought I would be here at such a young age," said Hilliker
