Arizona's Harvey Relief Effort

Task Force I Deployed

PHOENIX -

WHAT THE?
How Arizona is joining the effort to help people affected by Hurricane Harvey.

THE DOWNLOAD
Hurricane Harvey is leaving many parts of Texas under water. Cars are stranded under flood water all across the state, and in Dickinson, some people are using an air boat to check on cars making sure nobody is trapped inside. Arizona has joined the relief effort. St. Mary's Food Bank is sending 28 bins of food and personal care items to people and first responders in Corpus Christi and Victoria. The local American Red Cross Chapter is fielding calls and taking donations. You can donate through the Red Cross here. The Phoenix Fire Department was called upon by FEMA for their first responder's team called Task Force I for a 14-day deployment to Rosenberg, Texas. The team is made up of 80 members, mostly firefighters, that specialize in disaster relief. The last time Phoenix's Task Force I deployed was in 2008 for relief after Hurricane Ike. There are many ways you can join the effort to help people in Texas.
